Interested residents wanted to create a museum and had the store moved to its present location. Members of this group each contributed to the saving of this building.
GRANT HALL MUSEUM-will be open during the summer during hours to be determined & by appointment.
The current exhibit is of Ossipee textiles, which includes dresses, men's wear, hats, & boots. There is also a spinning wheel, a flax wheel, a bootmakers stand, a wash tub & a sewing machine. We kept the Civil War corner, since the doctor was from Ossipee. We will open during the summer: See the write-up on the Home Page.
We now have the fishing fly that was specially created by Rick Estes for this area, framed & on display.
We now have a new roof on one half of the building! The barn boards under the shingles had dry rot & the nails would not hold any more. Future work will include installing 2 fire doors and installing a ramp for accessibility for all and a better sign, and possibly signs on Route 16 to get our Museum noticed..
Any donations would be appreciated to help cover the cost of this project.
